Frances is based near Salisbury and has a background in graphic design and printmaking and took up ceramics in 2005. Her intention is to create engaging works that celebrate our landscapes which are rooted in the environment.
Frances works with clay and uses traditional hand-building techniques and elemental processes such as 'barrel' firing to make vessels. Frances uses coffee grounds, straw and seaweed to get the interesting marks on the vessels.
Due to the firing techniques used these are not suitable for putting water in. Dried flowers will complement them, but they stand alone as beautifully crafted pieces of art.
