Colour – The colour wheel, hues, values and colour mixing
Colour has a huge impact on your work. It can set the mood in your work. Did you know most artists work with quite a small number of colours from which you can mix a huge selection of colours? Learn about the colour wheel and hues using a selection of mixed media. This will help you when it comes to colour mixing and help you find the colours and styles you want to work in.

Stained Glass Workshop – Nature

This is a beginners class in which you will learn the basics of copper foil technique and go home with your own Nature-themed stained glass decorations/sun-catcher you created yourself!
This practical and informative workshop is a perfect introduction to stained glass work for beginners or improvers. You will learn the traditional skills of glass cutting and shaping to a pattern, copper foiling and soldering in a relaxed environment with plenty of individual attention.
You may bring your own design for a decoration or I will help you choose from existing templates or create your own based on your skill level and time allowing.
What’s included in the price?
All materials and tools are included in the cost. Gloves, goggles and an apron are provided. Tea and coffee are provided at any time during the day. Please bring a packed lunch.

In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to work on one design and cut a lino you can print from many times. We have a choice of templates you can use, or you can draw your own design. You’ll be guided through the process, from planning and transferring your design to carving and proofing it, before finally printing your masterpiece.

*NEW COURSE* Linocut – 4 week course
With Forest & Cove Team
In this 4-week course we will explore and learn all about Linocut and the wonderful and endless(!) techniques you can use to create beautiful prints. All course materials will be provided, including templates, but we do encourage you to prepare and sketch your own designs (it’s way more personal this way!). Below is an outline of the topics we will cover.
- 1st Week – MARK MAKING & INTRO –
- Introduction to the methods of making marks and textures. In the first session, you will make a small abstract print exploring mark-making to create texture, pattern and movement in your designs.
- 2nd Week – LANDSCAPE DESIGN RAINBOW ROLL – Create a landscape or seascape, a design using the mark-making we have learned in the first week, we will then print using a rainbow roll to show you how to get a gradient of colour.
- 3rd Week – EXPERIMENTAL PRINTING – CHINE COLLE – This is a great technique to use colour & pattern by bonding delicate papers to your main printing paper.
- 4th Week – JIGSAW METHOD – learn how to make a jigsaw-style print. You can then ink up each piece in different colours and fit them back together like a jigsaw allowing various colours to be used on one print.
