F&C classes
We are pleased to announce we now have a selection of F&C classes! These classes are run by the F&C team. Rebecca, Rachel & Carly are all artists themselves and will guide you through the class. Our In-house classes are designed to be fun and sociable. Come and create something beautiful leave with some new skills and meet some like minded creative people too! Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for all sessions.

Experimental Watercolour

Join us for a 2hr workshop exploring watercolour paints.
Watercolour is one of those mediums that many say they are scared of! Or wish that they knew how to use them ‘properly’ and confidently. In these popular workshops, we explore different ways we can use watercolour paints, having time to play with the many possibilities and most importantly having fun with it.

Colour has a huge impact on your work. It can set the mood in your work. Did you know most artists work with quite a small number of colours from which you can mix a huge selection of colours? Learn about the colour wheel and hues. This will help you when it comes to colour mixing and help you find the colours and styles you want to work in.

Acrylic Painting – Characterful Cockerel

In this fully guided step-by-step class, you will create your unique version of this characterful cockerel. Using brightly coloured acrylics and expressive brushstrokes this fun class helps you to loosen up and kick-start your creativity. All materials are provided, and we also have aprons too! This is a great introduction to painting, so don’t worry if you have never painted before!

Linocut – Full-Day – Landscapes & Seascapes

Have you tried linocut before and want to learn more? or you are a complete beginner but want to immerse yourself in a creative day of learning? If either of those is a yes this is the day for you. We will create a landscape or seascape exploring mark marking and creating texture.
You can bring your own sketch with you, or we will have templates & inspiration you can use. The size of the lino will be working on is 15cm x 15cm.

We are passionate about art and want to help you improve if you want to! So we have decided to divide our Elements of Art course so you can book them individually. We will be offering them all together as a course later in the year.
Landscape is the perfect way to learn about composition. You will explore how to create depth, interest, and texture. You will have access to different media & learn how to use them effectively. This small-sized art class is designed to offer learning and support to individuals and inspire in a safe welcoming environment. Discover the unique process of creating your own Ink & Bleach paintings inspired by outer space!. Explore using coloured inks and various tools to create different tones and textures. This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to experiment with a new technique.

Lino Cut – Botanical
Forest & Cove Class
Get creative and design your own unique handprinted prints using linocut techniques! In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to work on one design and cut a lino you can print from many times. We have a choice of templates you can use, or you can draw your own design. Feel free to bring along any reference images for inspiration. You’ll be guided through the process, from planning and transferring your design to carving and proofing it, before finally printing your masterpiece.
The course includes four prints of your final design.

*NEW COURSE* Linocut – 4 week course
With Forest & Cove Team
In this 4-week course we will explore and learn all about Linocut and the wonderful and endless(!) techniques you can use to create beautiful prints. All course materials will be provided, including templates, but we do encourage you to prepare and sketch your own designs (it’s way more personal this way!). Below is an outline of the topics we will cover.
- 1st week – MARK MAKING & INTRO – Introduction to making marks and textures with your carving. In the first session, you will make a small abstract print exploring mark-making to create texture, pattern and movement in your designs.
- 2nd Week – LANDSCAPE DESIGN RAINBOW ROLL – Create a landscape or seascape, a design using the mark-making we have learned in the first week, we will then print using a rainbow roll to show you how to get a gradient of colour.
- 3rd Week – EXPERIMENTAL PRINTING – CHINE COLLE – This is a great technique to use colour & pattern by bonding delicate papers to your main printing paper.
- 4th Week – JIGSAW METHOD – learn how to make a jigsaw-style print. You can then ink up each piece in different colours and fit them back together like a jigsaw allowing various colours to be used on one print.
