As part of our @hampshireopenstudio event we've go As part of our @hampshireopenstudio event we've got the lovely @elizabethhammondart doing a live demo in our shop on Tuesday 23rd August!​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ During this live demo Elizabeth will be working on a new addition to the Tales Series. She uses drawing to investigate seemingly conflicting objects and animals with different surfaces and textures and employ the single medium of a 2b pencil to investigate these. Through the incongruous compositions, a provoking and unusual narrative is created for the viewer, the drawings are often left unfinished as a way in for the viewer, a gifting. She intends to evoke a sense of wonder in the work; an Alice like wonder at the beauty of unlikely objects. On Wednesday 24th we've got Lisa from @cherrytreec On Wednesday 24th we've got Lisa from @cherrytreecandlecompany coming in to do a live demo and drop-in class on candle making! ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ Join Lisa as she demonstrates making vegetable wax candles, she will talk through the processes of melting wax, adding fragrance oil and pouring the candle at the perfect temperature for optimal results! Have a go at assembling and pouring your very own scented vegetable wax tea lights and get a glimpse of what you could create on one of her upcoming candle-making workshops! Charlie specialises in hand lettering & custom illustrations for individuals and businesses, including the Forest & Cove signage.
